GBLUR Volunteers
GBLUR's Volunteer Program is getting a big boost this year.
We will be introducing a new Volunteer Training Program with sessions every Monday from 11:30am to 1:30pm to help train our volunteers to be great at what they do.
Here is the information you will need:
STARTING MONDAY SEPT 14th
Every Monday from 11:30am to 1:30pm in the GBLUR Lounge (U of R Riddell Centre Room 222) we will have a one hour training workshop and a one hour planning session.
Each week's workshop will be on a different topic; if you can make it to 8 out of 10 workshops (plus a couple other requirements which we'll explain at the first session), we will issue you a certificate in Community Mobilizing.
This semester's training will be Level One, which will cover queer history and special needs, health and safety issues, and basic volunteer skills.
If things go well, next semester we'll start Level Two training, which will focus on leadership skills.
There is no registration or sign up to be able to attend, and we will look after assembling a list of volunteers later. Just come and find out what's going on.
