GBLUR is creating a handbook that explains what the organization is, and how it operates, the job descriptions of the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and Volunteers. This committee would be responsible for retreaving and organizing this information and interviewing members.
Policy and Bylaw Committee
This committee's goal is to review our current policies and bylaws and make suggestions for changes, as well as inform the boardus if we need to consider new ones.
Workshop Committee
One of the services GBLUR provides to other organizations and institutions is workshopping. We need a team to help create a workshop package that we can take to any function and quickly and efficiently present it with minimal training and fuss.
Professional Resource Committee
We're constantly doing research to help keep us ahead of the game. We strive to provide the best services and we need the best resources to do so. This committee is tasked with finding those resources. The University of Regina and City of Regina has many professionals that relate to the work GBLUR does. This Professional Resource Committee would be tasked to find these professionals and create and upkeep a database of them.
Library Committee
Our library is a very important asset to the university community and we need to keep it in line. We need a committee that can upkeep the newly catalogued library, contact people with overdue books, knows how to organize and catalog books the right way and make recommendations for new library resources.
Website Committee
This website has come a long way from what it used to be, but that doesn't mean its finished. We'd like to keep the style, but install a new Content Management System so that updating can be done by any board member.
Rally Committee
We need to keep motivated and get ourselves out there! Let's show the university that GBLUR is a big deal!
Lounge Committee
What's the first thing people see when they come to GBLUR? The lounge! And we need people who can help keep it clean, and greet new people so that they feel welcome and have a good first impression of our organization.
Lounge Facilitators
The lounge facilitators are responsible for facilitating one to two hour daily conversations in the lounge about current issues and other topics of interest.
Poster Campaign Committee
GBLUR has changed its poster boards to be more useful by displaying more information but we can't stop there. We need a committee of creative artistic people to help keep the boards fresh with new content. If you know how to design, we want you!
Peer2Peer Committee
Interacting with each other is really important. Being able to have someone you can talk to and that you can relate to really helps us provide support to those who need it. If you like helping people out, this is what you want to sign up for!
Gallery Show Committee
GBLUR would like to have a show at the 5th Parallel Gallery in the Riddell Centre and is looking for artists who may be interested.
